Day 18

Weighed her this morning and i knew she was going to be under the 20's tonight so gave her 7 more grams. by 5.00pm she was at 925. Took her too the local city park and set up for some 100 foot flights, i barely got 50 feet and she was following me. Wasn't hitting the glove hard but we did have a number of very good flights Fed ehr 40 grams of Beef heart and 15 grams of pigeon. Tomorrow we are going to put her bells on and fly her in the park again

You can probably get rid of the bad behavior of her leaving the perch before being called by simply not rewarding her if she leave prior to the whistle.
Her leaving without command could end up in some trouble down the road...

Actually thats exactly what you want according to my sponsor. It means she will follow closly in the field. I ahve to defer to his advise as he is my sponsor

Steve,

I can definitely see that application, and i can also see how this technique may help keep her focus completely on you while in the field... BUT, if your in position for a flush, and you want her to stay at a particular perch in a tree so she has a better angle of attack (say, downwind for example) how will you get her stay in THAT particular tree without following along in anticipation (thus ruining the slip)?

Sponsor here....

Only longwingers think they're in control of anything.
