Even in the Snow
More Creance work. We will move to a different field tomorrow that gives me more space.
He is coming along really nicely. 860g and I'll probably free fly him at the weekend. The Lure is still an issue but we are working on that. Can't wait to get back out in the field again hunting.
On another note, i got a set of Larry Caunce Bells in the post. You can now order them direct at CaunceBells. I ordered them Friday and they arrived today which is not bad at all. I got the size 7 bell as they are meant for coopers hawks but can be used with a male Redtails.

Great pictures once again. He just looks so cool.
So can you fill me in on what the bells are for?
Hi Kari, Bells are used for as an audio tracking method. The type of bells we use are specially made. They tend to be attached to the legs using Bewits or to the tail. When the hawk is deep in brush or in a tree sometimes its easy to loose site of yur hawk. a few seconds after that happens the cha ching of the bells lets you know your bird is close.
