We have ordered Cardboard NUC's from Mann Lake. The reasoning behind this is that we will use them for transporting the bee's when we get them. I didn't like the idea of transporting live bee's in a Hive Deep.
The Cardboard NUC are Waxed and are very easy to put together as the video suggests..

I dunno why you would not want to transport the bees in a hive deep. Get a strap or even a few bungee cords, and a roll of duct tape. When you do to pick up your nuc from the supplier beekeeper, put the frames in the hive, he will put the queen in a little cage and place her at the top between the two innermost frames. Close up the entrance with a big piece of duct tape and either strap or bungee on the top. You can leave the telescoping top at home if you wish and just use the inner cover with a piece of duct tape over it to prevent them from escaping. Piece of cake!!
