The molt

The molt is dragging along. He has 2 orange tail feathers. and most of his primaries have dropped.

I received a fox loop leash system from a friend that's very cool and works a dream.

The wife is however loving the molt, lots of honey do list items being solved and fixed including a remodeling the kitchen and living room.

Telemetary

I never had telemetry until recently. I had a transmitter but never the receiver. A falconer friend, (sponsor of my sponsor) has decided to mothball his falconry. Receivers in my opinion are two dam expensive for what they are. costing anywhere between $600 and over $1000 for the long range Receivers and around $450 for short range receivers.

I got a good deal for two transmitters and a receiver. The receiver is old but it works a Merlin 10 made by
Custom Electronics in Urbana, Illinois in 1990. I cant seem to find a website or any other
relevant data on it just what came in the manual. The receiver came with a Marshall Yagi antenna, Yagi antennas are directional in that they can determine the direction a radio signal is coming from. Well... that's the theory.

I received a Marshal DP2 Transmitter and a HSL Transmitter. After contacting the manufacture of the HSL Transmitter I found out the transmitter weights 2.3 grams and can last up to 24 weeks ! It has to be sent back to the manufacture each year to have a new battery installed ( $65) but considering the equivalent that's nothing in comparison to battery replacement every week for micro transmitters.

I'm going to be practicing with it over the coming weeks and will be placing an order for a back pack in the fall.
