इन्स्पेक्टिओंस एंड updates

3 out of the 4 beehives i have are doing very well, so well that i have now added another Deep onto them. The frames that i used the fishing line straight rather than criss-cross are doing very well , the criss-cross pattern caused some irregular comb to be drawn out as it spaned comb holes, the line that just went horizontally has worked out perfect !

Yesterday on the way home from work i spotted a swarm in the staff car park. I had to go with my wife to the Dr's with our new born baby but on the way back they where still there. I headed home and got a Deep, a bottom board 10 frames with starter strips and a top. After much a do... I managed to capture 95% off the bee's still not sure if i got the queen but i think i have come very close to it. Today i placed two frames with a full sheet of foundation in the deep along with a deep of capped broad and some uncapped broad form one of my other hives. I also put a top feeder on and filled it full of sugar water. I'll report back over the ext few weeks on how we get on !
